The whole vibe of the movie

Gonzalo sent me production photos as he was filming, and the key was trying to find an image that would represent the whole vibe of the movie.

There, but it isn’t

To do so I started layering up portraits of Alba Galocha, painstakingly adding layer by layer with small modifications in each one — opacity, blending, gradients — until the final image unveiled before my eyes. A mysterious portrait that is there but it isn’t. Almost an abstract piece.

The best printer in Barcelona

I then decided to create a silkscreen for all the team members and for promotion. To do so I contacted the best printer in Barcelona, Sebastián from Taller 57. He took my poster and with a delicate process managed to reproduce in silkscreen the mystery and the restlessness of the original digital piece.

A film made against the algorithm

López-Gallego wrote, shot, edited and directed it himself. He has said it came out of “la necesidad de volver a conectar con la pasión de crear largometrajes y del hastío de encontrarme en situaciones en las que descubres que el proceso creativo no tiene cabida.”

On the industry it was made away from: “Sentí que el lenguaje cinematográfico no era su prioridad. No querían una visión, no querían una autoría… lo que querían es a un mercenario que ruede y ruede para después poder decidir en montaje cómo hacerlo encajar con el algoritmo.”

And on what he wanted the film to be: “Sin duda si la película se convierte en un grito a la libertad creativa frente a la industria del algoritmo, puedo decir que mis expectativas estarían sobradamente cumplidas.” Terror Weekend
